Effective Date: October 10, 2026Application: FaceCam (com.corvas.facecam)Developer: Corvas
Zero-Collection Summary

100% On-Device Processing · No Cloud Uploads · No Accounts

FaceCam does not collect, transmit, sell, or store your screen captures, facial video, voice recordings, or usage analytics on any remote server. The Android release manifest of FaceCam completely excludes the android.permission.INTERNET permission. All video encoding, MediaPipe AI segmentation, and project saving operate strictly within your local device sandbox.

1. Information Processed On Your Device

FaceCam processes the screen content, camera video, and audio that you explicitly choose to record. In addition, the application locally persists recording titles, timestamps, capture preferences, session configuration metadata, raw media tracks, generated segmentation masks, exported MP4 videos, whiteboard stroke vectors, imported background lesson images, and document pages.

Notice regarding screen recordings: When recording your screen, any content displayed on your phone display (including private notifications, messages, emails, or personal data) may be captured in your recording file. Please ensure you do not display sensitive information during an active recording take.

2. On-Device MediaPipe Computer Vision Processing

FaceCam provides optional on-device computer vision features powered by Google MediaPipe, specifically:

  • Face Detection / Smart Framing: Detects head location within camera frames to gently auto-center the crop during video export.
  • Selfie Segmentation: Generates a local foreground alpha mask to support background blur and background removal.

These algorithms run entirely locally on your hardware during export. FaceCam does not identify individual people, does not extract biometric identifiers, does not create facial profiles, and never transmits facial data or segmentation masks to Corvas or any third party. Original raw camera tracks are preserved non-destructively.

3. Collection, Advertising, and Analytics

This production version of FaceCam:

Contains no user accounts or registration
Contains no advertising SDKs (e.g. AdMob)
Contains no external telemetry or tracking
Contains no cloud storage or sync backend

The production Android manifest removes internet permissions entirely. Recording and local export operations do not upload your content or diagnostics to Corvas. Technical error logs remain strictly in private app storage.

4. Android System Permissions & Purposes

FaceCam requests only the permissions necessary to provide its local recording tools:

CAMERA: Used when you explicitly choose front or rear camera recording or composition preview.
RECORD_AUDIO: Used for microphone narration and Android 10+ internal audio capture, only when an audio mode is selected.
SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW (Display over other apps): Used for the floating Smart Start controller and optional floating camera bubble over destination applications.
POST_NOTIFICATIONS: Used to display required foreground service notifications with active recording controls (Pause, Resume, Mute, Stop).
WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (maxSdk 28): Used on older Android releases solely when you explicitly tap 'Save to Gallery'.

5. Saving, Sharing, and Data Retention

Local App Storage: Your raw take sources, session journals, and whiteboard documents remain within FaceCam's sandboxed internal storage until you delete them within the app or clear/uninstall the application.

Gallery Export: Tapping 'Save to Gallery' writes a standalone MP4 file to your device's public Movies/FaceCam directory. Once saved there, standard gallery apps can access the file. Deleting an item inside FaceCam does not delete copies already exported to your gallery.

Android Share Sheet: If you select 'Share', Android opens your user-initiated chooser. The selected third-party app (e.g. YouTube, Google Drive, WhatsApp) receives a temporary URI to the file and handles that copy under its own privacy policy.

6. Google Play Data Safety Alignment

In accordance with Google Play's Data Safety requirements:

  • Data collected off-device: None.
  • Data shared with third parties: None (except user-initiated transfers via Android Share Sheet).
  • Security practices: Data stays within Android's application sandbox.
  • Account deletion: No accounts exist; uninstalling the app deletes all app-private data.

7. Children's Privacy

FaceCam is a general creator utility and is not directed to children under 13 years of age. FaceCam does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
