1. Agreement to Terms

These Terms of Use describe your rights and responsibilities when using the FaceCam Android application (package identifier com.corvas.facecam), provided by Corvas. By downloading, installing, or using FaceCam, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the application.

2. Permitted Use & Creator Responsibility

You may use FaceCam to record, create, and edit video content that you are legally entitled to use. You are solely responsible for obtaining any necessary consents or authorizations required to record other individuals, private conversations, computer displays, protected copyrighted works, or confidential data.

Prohibited Conduct: You agree not to use FaceCam for unlawful activities, covert or non-consensual surveillance, copyright infringement, harassment, defamation, or any circumvention of digital rights management (DRM) or recording restrictions established by Android or third-party applications.

3. Intellectual Property & Content Ownership

You retain all ownership, intellectual property rights, and copyright in and to your original recordings, whiteboard projects, and exported videos created using FaceCam. Corvas does not claim ownership or rights in your media.

FaceCam does not operate a public hosting platform, media feed, or automatic upload system. If you choose to share your exported MP4 videos via another application or platform (such as YouTube, TikTok, or cloud storage), your use of that service is governed by its respective terms and privacy policies.

4. Device Limitations & Platform Availability

Hardware capabilities, camera sensors, Android operating system permissions, and third-party app restrictions determine the availability and quality of recordings:

• Internal Audio: AudioPlaybackCapture requires Android 10 or later and depends on whether the destination app permits audio recording. DRM-protected content cannot be captured.
• MediaPipe AI Effects: Background removal and smart framing run locally and processing duration varies based on device processor (CPU/GPU/NPU) capabilities and video duration.
• Storage: Users are advised to maintain sufficient device storage for multi-track session assets.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties

FaceCam is provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis, without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, uninterrupted operation, or zero synchronization errors.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall Corvas be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, recording interruptions, or device storage errors resulting from your use of FaceCam.

7. Third-Party Licenses

FaceCam utilizes open-source components including Google MediaPipe and Android Jetpack libraries. Each component remains subject to its respective open-source license.
